Description

This is definitely one of the hardest events any team or player can aspire to win. In order to enter you must first be your local league current champion(s) in one of three disciplines (Team, Individual, Ladies Individual). As if that wasn't hard enough you must then take on other local league players who have achieved the same feat in their local league.

In this competition the playing standards are high from the word go. The only thing you can be sure of is that it will get tougher and tougher the further you progress. It is only open to leagues affiliated to the English Pool Association, if your league is not affiliated contact the EPA secretary for details of affiliation.

Players play all season in their local team up and down the country aiming for their local league honours and over 35,000 players are involved in this event. As soon as player signs for their local pub/club team they could be taking the first step on the road to becoming a National Champion. Usually the local leagues run their individual knockout events at the close of the normal season. From that point on it's everyone for themselves.

Once they have won one of the three disciplines in their local league their parent league registers them with the competition organisers. Once all the respective leagues up and down the country have submitted their winners a draw takes place for the first round matches. For the early rounds the draw is segregated in order to keep travelling to a minimum. At the same time the organisers try to keep players away from leagues in their immediate locality so that players as far as is possible will be playing new faces.

Once past the local first stage the event moves on to a regional level where the draw is segregated so that players will only play other players from their own geographical Regions. The winners of this round then qualify for the National finals. The event is held at the Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth each year and the winners from this round get to fight for a stake in the prize money on offer.

No individual team or player can enter themselves in this event, only their league Secretary and County can endorse a team or individuals entry to the event. If you have stayed to read this far you will realise that this is no ordinary competition. It boasts a large prize fund and attracts the very best local league players around.

Please Note
Any entry received that is not accompanied by verified league tables, singles k/o results and team / player registrations will not be accepted. This will be strictly enforced. Singles entries will only be accepted when supported by a team entry.

If you or a team you play for meet our qualification criteria but are not part of this event then get your league secretary to register your league now. You may only get a chance to qualify for this event once in your pool playing career. Unless of course you habitually win your local league individual events. If you do that you must want to see how far you can go in the United Kingdom's largest Pool competition.
