WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006
Wheelchair Qualifiers

This is your opportunity to represent EPA and play in the 2006 Wheelchair World Pool Championships- Home Internationals & European Championships 2007 by entering the English selection stage to be held at McCluskey’s Pool Hall, Derby on the weekend of 13th/14th May 2006.

Selection procedure
Wheelchair Players from the E.P.A or a Wheelchair Association recognised by the E.P.A would be allowed to enter these Trials.
(E.P.A I.D. Membership card holders £20: Non E.P.A I.D Membership card holders £25

Required Teams & Events
World Wheelchair Championship: In June 2006- 2 Teams
Home Internationals: In September 2006 -1 Team
European Championships: In February 2007 -1 Team
(team requirements are at present, but may change if an event allows it).

Format
The 3 players that played in the E.P.A Wheelchair team at the European Championships in the year of the Trials will be seeded to a final round:
(If 2 Wheelchair teams attend the European Championships, Team 2 will go through the Trials qualifying rounds).

At the Trials (on the Saturday) players will compete in a Round Robin system play off.
Winner – Runner Up – 3rd Place player will stay and play on the Sunday in a round robin play off with the 3 players that represented England (Team 1) at the European Championships in that year, to make up:
England Wheelchair Team 1 & Team 2
(BB will be paid for by E.P.A).

Winner – Runner Up – 3rd Place players will be Team 1:

4th – 5th – 6th Player will be Team 2.

All players in Teams 1 & 2 will be entered in the World Wheelchair Singles Championships

The 3 Players in the Trials qualifying rounds that finished 4th & 5th & 6th will be entered into the World Singles Wheelchair Championships. (They must pay their own entry fee and provide their own accommodation).

If any player in Team 1 squad was unable to compete in any of the 3 named events they would be replaced by the highest ranked player from Team 2 squad.
If the player from Team 1 does not return to his/her position for the next Wheelchair event, then the player from team 2 that took his/ her place would move permanently.

This selection procedure will roll over each year. This is the agreed Selection procedure for future Wheelchair teams that represent the English Pool Association.

VENUE

McCluskey’s Pool Hall, Spondon Snooker Club, 46 Nottingham Road, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7NL.
Directions will be sent to all entrants

ENTRY

Restricted to players resident in England, who are over 16 years old by the closing date, with an entry fee of £25 (£20 with valid ID card number) per person.

Closing date for entries - Thursday 4th May 2006

PLAY

Play will commence at 11:00 am on Saturday 13th May and it is expected that the main event will be completed on that day. (See selection Procedure) This may change according to entries.
No denims or trainers please. Dress code will be enforced.

All entrants will receive full details prior to the date of the competition.
